Hollowcore flooring systems, sometimes referred to as slabs or planks, provide a strong yet lightweight structural solution. These prestressed concrete units incorporate continuous circular voids, reducing overall weight while achieving excellent strength and impressive span-to-depth performance.
Southcrete’s hollowcore floor units are designed to accommodate long spans and can be manufactured with pre-formed openings, recesses, and open cores to suit a wide range of structural and service requirements.
Acoustic hollowcore slabs are available to meet the requirements of Part E of the Building Regulations for sound resistance. When specified, these units can remove the need for pre-completion acoustic testing.
Units are supplied in depths of 100mm, 150mm, 200mm, and 250mm, with a standard width of 1200mm.
